Speaker 2: deploy Starlink satellites, including special direct to Sell capable units
Speaker 2: that will expand their communications network. Another mission will carry
Speaker 2: Worldview Legion Earth Observation satellites for maxar technologies, capable of
Speaker 2: monitoring changes on our planet's surface with remarkable thirty centimeter resolution. Meanwhile,
Speaker 2: Russia is preparing to return to flight operations with their
Speaker 2: first Soyuz launch of twenty twenty five, carrying classified satellites
Speaker 2: to orbit. This mission from the Placetsk Cosmodrome demonstrates that
Speaker 2: despite geopolitical tensions, space operations continue across all major spacefaring nations.
Speaker 2: These launches represent more than just individual missions. They showcase
Speaker 2: the transformation of space access from a purely government driven
Speaker 2: endeavor to a dynamic commercial marketplace with multiple providers offering
Speaker 2: various launch services. We're witnessing an era where access to
Speaker 2: space has become more routine and diverse than ever before,
Speaker 2: and in some not so good news. Today, India's first
Speaker 2: space mission of twenty twenty five has encountered significant challenges,
Speaker 2: highlighting the complex nature of satellite deployment operations. The mission,
Speaker 2: which mark the one hundredth launch from India as historic
Speaker 2: SATUS Dewan Space Center, initially appeared to proceed according to
Speaker 2: plan with the successful liftoff of their geosynchronous satellite launch vehicle.
Speaker 2: The spacecraft, designated NVS zero two, was intended to join
Speaker 2: India's navigation with Indian Constellation Network known as NAVIC. This
Speaker 2: system provides crucial positioning, navigation and timing services for India
Speaker 2: and surrounding regions, similar to the GPS system we're all
Speaker 2: familiar with. However, the mission hit a snag during a
Speaker 2: critical phase of deployment. After reaching its initial transfer orbit,
Speaker 2: the satellite experienced a valve issue that prevented it from
Speaker 2: firing its engines. This malfunction has left the spacecraft stranded
Speaker 2: in an elliptical transfer orbit rather than reaching its intended
Speaker 2: position in geostationary orbit approximately twenty two than two hundred
Speaker 2: and thirty six miles above Earth's equator. The Indian Space
Speaker 2: Research Organization isn't giving up on the mission just yet.
Speaker 2: Engineers are currently exploring alternate solutions, including the possibility of
Speaker 2: using the satellite's smaller attitude control thrusters to gradually raise
Speaker 2: its orbit. While these thrusters weren't designed for major orbital adjustments,

Speaker 2: new system called cosmic which stands for commensal open source
Speaker 2: multimode interferometer cluster. Researchers have pushed the boundaries of our
Speaker 2: search capabilities. Working in conjunction with the Karl g Jansky
Speaker 2: Very Large Array Cosmic process is an enormous amount of
Speaker 2: astronomical data, specifically looking for signals that might indicate artificial
Speaker 2: radio emissions from distant civilizations. The system's sophisticated algorithms are
Speaker 2: designed to identify narrow band signals that change frequency over
Speaker 2: time due to the Doppler effect, characteristics we'd expect to
Speaker 2: see in artificial transmissions from advanced civilizations. While the search
Speaker 2: through these nine hundred fifty thousand objects hasn't detected any
Speaker 2: clear signs of extraterrestrial intelligence, it represents a significant milestone
Speaker 2: in our systematic exploration of the cosmos. The project's real
Speaker 2: achievement lies in demonstrating the effectiveness of new automated processing
Speaker 2: systems that can handle the overwhelming volume of data modern
Speaker 2: astronomy gen rates. The elegance of cosmics design allows it
Speaker 2: to operate alongside regular astronomical observations, essentially piggybacking on existing
Speaker 2: research to conduct its steady analysis. This approach maximizes the
Speaker 2: efficiency of our search efforts while making use of every
Speaker 2: available moment of telescope time. In a rigorous test of
Speaker 2: the system's capabilities, researchers focused on a subset of five
Speaker 2: hundred and eleven stars from the Gaya catalog during a
Speaker 2: thirty minute observation window. Though no potential TECHNO signatures were identified,

Speaker 2: between falling space objects and aircraft operations. A recent study
Speaker 2: published in Scientific Reports reveals that there's a twenty six
Speaker 2: percent annual chance of uncontrolled space debris re entering Earth's
Speaker 2: atmosphere over busy air spaces like northern Europe or the
Speaker 2: northeastern United States. This risk was dramatically illustrated during SpaceX's
Speaker 2: recent Starship test flight, where the Federal Aviation Administration had
Speaker 2: to activate a debris response area and adjust flight patterns
Speaker 2: to protect aircraft from potential falling debris. Several planes were
Speaker 2: forced to divert due to fuel concerns while holding outside
Speaker 2: the impacted areas. The challenge is becoming more complex due
Speaker 2: to two converging factors, the increasing frequency of space debris
Speaker 2: re entries and the growing volume of airline traffic. Authorities

Speaker 2: accepting the small but potentially catastrophic risk of collision, making
Speaker 2: matters more challenging. Over two thousand, three hundred rocket bodies
Speaker 2: currently orbit Earth, all of which will eventually re enter
Speaker 2: our atmosphere in an uncontrolled manner. While the probability of
Speaker 2: an aircraft strike remains relatively low, the potential consequences could
Speaker 2: be devastating. The situation creates a complex dilemma for aviation
Speaker 2: authorities who must balance safety concerns against economic impacts. While
Speaker 2: controlled re entries into ocean areas could help mitigate these
Speaker 2: risks for future missions, the existing debris in orbit means
Speaker 2: this challenge will persist for decades to come. This growing
Speaker 2: problem underscores the urgent need for better space traffic management
Speaker 2: and more controlled disposal methods for space hardware. In a
Speaker 2: fascinating development that's challenging our understanding of planetary formation, Astronomers
Speaker 2: studying the ultra hot Jupiter WASP one hundred twenty one
Speaker 2: B have made some unexpected discoveries about this extraordinary world.
Speaker 2: Located about eight hundred and fifty eight light years from Earth.
Speaker 2: This peculiar planet has earned the nickname Roasting Marshmallow due
Speaker 2: to its extreme temperatures and puffy appearance. WASP one hundred
Speaker 2: twenty one B is truly a remarkable object. While it
Speaker 2: only has about one point two times the mass of Jupiter,
Speaker 2: it's actually nearly twice as wide, making it one of
Speaker 2: the puffiest planets we've ever discovered. It orbits incredibly close
Speaker 2: to its star, completing a full circuit in just one
Speaker 2: point three earth days, and is tidally locked, meaning one
Speaker 2: side perpetually faces its star while the other remains in darkness.
Speaker 2: The dayside of this world is almost unimaginably hot, reaching
Speaker 2: temperatures of around four thousan five hundred degrees fahrenheit. That's
Speaker 2: hot enough to vaporize metals, which then get caught in
Speaker 2: power full eleven thousand mile per hour winds that carry
Speaker 2: them to the cooler night side. There, these metals cool
Speaker 2: and fall as exotic rain, not water drops, but liquid
Speaker 2: metal ruby and sapphire. But here's where things get really interesting.
Speaker 2: Using the Gemini South Telescopes's Eigrin's instrument, researchers have found
Speaker 2: evidence suggesting that WASP one hundred twenty one B may
Speaker 2: have actually formed very close to its star, contrary to
Speaker 2: our traditional understanding of how gas giants develop. The planet's
Speaker 2: unusually high rock to ice ratio indicates it accumulated a
Speaker 2: substantial amount of rocky material during its formation, something that
Speaker 2: should only happen in the hotter regions close to a star.
Speaker 2: This discovery challenges our current models of planetary formation, which
Speaker 2: suggests that gas giants need solid ices to form and
Speaker 2: typically develop much further out from their stars before migrating inward.
